daisy appoints new wholesale manager

A motorsport fanatic with 15 years experience in the telecoms industry has been welcomed into the daisy fold.

Nick Webster, of Suffolk, joins the ever-expanding communications provider as national wholesale manager.

His role will involve the every day running of daisy's successful reseller channel as well as scouring the marketplace for new acquisition opportunities for the company.

Nick said: "I have had a lot of dealings with daisy in the past and am delighted to join a company which is financially strong in an often unstable market.

"Unlike the larger carriers who are only interested in large resellers, daisy fills in a niche market in the telecoms industry.

"It concentrates its efforts on small and medium sized businesses, offering a level of service that cannot be matched by the larger organisations.

"Acquisitions have become key to daisy's future and I am looking forward to playing a key role in this area in what is set to be an exciting year."

daisy's director of channel partners, Mark Hickey, said: "Nick will be an invaluable asset to daisy as it continues on its trail of acquisitions and he already has some exciting plans for our reseller channel that are guaranteed to bring in new business."

Important changes to 0870

The UK’s communications regulator Ofcom is to change the guidelines for 0870 numbers from 1st February 2008. From this date all operators will be required to charge callers no more for calls to 0870 numbers than those to a number with a dialling code of 01 or 02. As a result of this caller charges will be substantially reduced and this will end revenue generation for companies using 0870 numbers. If you have a current 0870 number you will need to review the role of your number.
