daisy helps to beat the January blues

Staff at Nelson-based daisy have started the new year with a spring in their step after a skiing adventure in the French Alps.

Following a successful Q3 sales incentive, held internally by the telecoms company, 20 members of staff enjoyed five days away in the Porte du Soleil region of Morzine. The trip was launched to employees in October following a similar sales incentive to Puerto Banus, Spain, last year.

Sales staff were given the objective of surpassing their targets for the months of October, November and December in order to qualify for the trip, with additional places being opened up to non-sales staff as well as the company's business and reseller partners.

After a pre-holiday gathering at daisy's offices on the Lomeshaye Estate on Friday, January 18th, the party flew to Geneva before crossing the border and being whisked off into the French mountains. With lessons provided for everyone, all members were given the option of attending ski school during the day, while the après ski provided much entertainment in the evening.

Tony Dixon, commercial director at daisy, said: "The reaction we had internally to the Q1 sales incentive to Puerto Banus was fantastic - it created a real buzz around the company and we wanted to recreate that and, if possible, better it. We've had this latest incentive in mind for a while and surprised staff with it at the beginning of October."

The company is now hoping to attract more staff to the company with more than 50 new jobs expected to be created over the next six months.

He continued: "daisy is undergoing a period of expansion due to recent success in the telecoms industry and this will create opportunities for local people to work at a firm where we place staff and their needs very high on the agenda."
