These five finalists are competing in for the inaugural Bank of Scotland Corporate Entrepreneur Challenge.

The Challenge is designed to encourage entrepreneurial activity and the number and quality of applications received has been reported as exceptional.

daisy will now have the opportunity to present their business plan to the judging panel and make the case for why they should receive the £5m prize. The judges will be looking out for the drive, determination and entrepreneurial spirit which mark one business out from the rest.

Joining senior Bank of Scotland Corporate figures on the judging panel will be representatives from Deloitte, and two entrepreneurs who have built up their own businesses with stunning success: David Jackson, Chairman and Chief Executive of Redhall Group and Brian Kennedy, owner of several businesses, including Sale Sharks Rugby Union Club.

The Northern final will take place on Thursday, November 15th, at Urbis, Manchester. The Northern winner will then have another date in his sights – the UK final on Wednesday 12 December.

Along with the winners from the four other regions, the owner of the winning Northern company will compete for the title of Entrepreneur of the Year, and for the chance to have Arcadia boss Sir Philip Green join them in their boardroom for four days of mentoring, completely free of charge.
