Ranked number one in the Sunday Times' Tech Track chart in 2005, the latest accolade is further proof of a rate of growth that has seen the company become one of the country's leading independent communications firms.

daisy has been operating for six years now, based in its founder and chief executive officer Matthew Riley's hometown of Nelson. Starting out with just three employees in 2001, the company now operates from a 20,000sq ft state of the art office complex and employees more than 130 people, selling communications solutions to businesses.

It is one of the UK's leading providers for telephone, mobile, data and broadband and has seen its turnover has grow from £289,977, in 2002, to £23.7m, in 2006, a rate of growth reflected in the company's placing in the Fast 50.

Speaking of the company's achievement, Matthew Riley said: "The last year has been a great one for daisy. Financially we increased our profitability and strengthened our dominance in the fixed line communications market.

"To be ranked as one of the UK's fastest growing technology companies is no mean feat and is recognition for the hard work and determination of all staff that have helped the company grow to be the dominant force that it is over the last few years."

As daisy looks to progress with its expansion through acquisition and organic means, revenue is expected to double over the next 12 months and move the company closer towards its goal of floating on AIM.

The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 is an award programme honouring business growth, technological innovation and UK entrepreneurial spirit. Now in its 10th year, the programme ranks the fastest-growing UK tech companies based on percentage revenue growth over a five-year period.
