daisy raises thousands for The Prince's Trust

Daisy Communications has donated almost £7,500 to The Prince's Trust following months of fundraising.

The trust's commercial director for the North West, Richard Marsh, visited Daisy's offices, on the Lomeshaye Industrial Estate, Nelson, on Monday to be presented with a cheque for £7,426.

The money had been raised following fundraising activities undertaken between April and October this year.

At the beginning of October Daisy organised a charity raffle that took place during a Gala Dinner held by Miles Publishing, at Sandown Racecourse, Surrey. More than £3,000 was raised on the night after Daisy donated a signed England shirt, signed football and a bottle of champagne.

In addition, the communication firm donated an additional £4,426 after pledging to donate £1 for every customer that signed up for e-billing, a campaign aimed at converting the company's 20,000-strong customer base from paper bills to a more environmentally friendly alternative.

Daisy's commercial director Tony Dixon presented the cheque on behalf of the company, he said: "We recognised the fantastic amount of work The Prince's Trust does for young people, not only nationwide but also closer to home in East Lancashire. Daisy wants to help support more of these young people and assist in whatever way it can."

Richard Marsh, commercial director for the North West, said: "The Prince's Trust works with more than 220 young people a year in Pendle, helping them to get their lives working. Without the help and encouragement of supporters, which include Daisy, we could not offer the level of support which sees 167 of the young people we assist go into work, education or training.

"Their input in our programmes and support for the work of The Prince's Trust has been invaluable and we are keen to extend this work over the next 12 months and reach more young people."
