Daisy Communications have been placed 58 in The Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 annual league table.  Rated number one in 2005, they are one of only 38 companies to feature in both 2005 and 2006.

Now in its sixth year, the prestigious league table ranks Britain's one hundred fastest growing private technology companies by their sales growth over a two-year period.  The 2006 league table, ranking companies according to their annual growth rate between 2003 and 2005, was published in The Sunday Times on the 24th of September.
The Sunday Times reported "The entrepreneur Matthew Riley is continuing to expand his company daisy, having made five acquisitions since 2005 and is planning up to five more before the end of this year.  The Lancashire company, founded in 2001 has just won a five-year contract with Peacocks, worth £5m, to supply all its data and voice communications.  Sales have risen 63% a year from an annualised £6m in 2003 to an annualised £16m in 2005, with Riley considering a flotation next year on the Alternative Investment Market".

Commenting on the award Matthew Riley, daisy CEO, said:  "We are delighted to feature in the Tech Track 100 league table for the second year in a row.  This is an excellent achievement and demonstrates continued growth over a sustained period.  I would personally like to thank our partners, customers and the daisy team who have collectively made this possible.  As we embark on an aggressive acquisition strategy I hope to continue this success going forward in our drive to become the UK's premier telecommunications Service Provider."

Important changes to 0870

The UK's communications regulator Ofcom predicts it will be post-summer when changes are made to the regulations for 0870 numbers. The change, which was originally set to take place on February 1st, was delayed due to concerns about pre-call announcements which might interfere with some services. Ofcom is still in the process of drafting a consultation setting out revised proposals which it hopes to publish in the next few weeks. Once complete, the consultation will be issued and people will have six weeks to comment on it. Ofcom will then consider the responses and publish a policy statement setting out its decision. Ofcom will give further guidance on the implementation timetable in the policy consultation; however it looks likely that the changes would not be introduced until the summer at the earliest.
