Nelson based telecommunications company daisy this week celebrated being re-accredited for the Investors in People Award under the new, tougher profile framework.
Investors in People ‘Profile' is a new framework of good practice that sets an even higher standard for organisations keen to stay one step ahead of the competition. It goes beyond the current scope of the Investors in People ‘Standard' into broader areas of people management and development, looking at everything from recruitment and selection to work life balance and social responsibility.
daisy first achieved the Investors in People award in April 2003, at a time when they employed just 16 people. By the time they were successfully reassessed in December 2005, the total number of employees had grown to over 100 and they had moved to state of the art office on the Lomeshaye industrial estate. The company now boasts more than 140 staff based out of two offices, and were recently recognised as the fastest growing technology company in the UK by The Sunday Times, in their annual Tech Track awards.
Commenting on the award, Matthew Riley, daisy CEO said: "daisy has achieved phenomenal success over the past five years and most of this success can be attributed to the strength of the team we have developed here in Nelson. Awards such as Investors in People provide recognition of our commitment to staff development, but also give us direction so that we can continue to improve in the future."
